ICYDK – Oregon’s School Rank, Cowboy Cops, & E-Sniffing Dogs
Not a good look for Oregon school systems, we’re near the bottom of the pack. Oregon is ranked 45th in the nation for test scores and graduation rates and such. We only beat these 6 of the 51 states and DC. Yikes. Now, I don’t know if I agree, because I went to school here and I can do words real good and I know all the numbers in order.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Department is doing something new with their uniforms… a little touch of the yee-haw. Deputies are now allowed to wear one of four cowboy hat designs while on duty; they just have to buy it themselves. And I haven’t confirmed this, but now when they walk up to your window when they pull you over, they have to mosey.
And speaking of cops, I need more details on the Milwaukie PD’s newest officer – Flora. Flora is a comfort dog yes, but is also trained to sniff out electronic devices, like hard drives. They say she can even do it outdoors and through water. What? I don’t know what she’s smelling for.
