ICYDK – Northwest Gold Medals, Extreme Heat Advisories, & Oregon Zoo Plates

The Northwest has finally struck gold at the Olympics as Jordan Chiles of Vancouver and Jade Carey of the Oregon State Beavers helped the women’s gymnastics team take the podium. The US is already leading the medal count, and we haven’t even started the track & field part yet, where even more of our locals are expected to dominate. USA!
They’re turning up the heat in Paris, we’re gonna start doing it literally here. 90-ish today, closer to 100 tomorrow, and we’ll be in the cool part of the state. Triple-digits for the parts of the state that are already literally on fire. Did your smart device bing-bong you yesterday to warn you? Mine did, but it also does that for dense fog, so hard to know if it’s being serious.
And finally, it’s about time the Oregon Zoo got a license plate. Where has that been? It’s gonna feature an Asian elephant, as our zoo is most-famous for its elephant conservation efforts. It’ll also feature roses for the Rose City, and it’ll actually go into production if 3,000 people pre-order it. Throw in an elephant ear and you got me.
